Show Information:

1.                  This show is approved and will be conducted under the Rules and Regulations of AMHA.

2.                  Show management reserves the right to cancel or combine classes as outlined in AMHA rules.

3.                  Arrangements have been made to provide arrival time to the park on Thursday, July 8 after 10:00 a.m.  A one-time parking fee of $5 will be charged to each vehicle for parking over the weekend.  Please tell them you are with the Julep Cup Show to get this weekend rate.  If you need to arrive prior to July 8th, please email or call Laura Mullen at 607-769-6743 or winectry@aol.com to arrange times and date.

4.                  Shavings, hay, feed and golf carts are provided through Devers Show Service, located in the park.  Dever’s phone numbers are 859-233-9702 or 859-621-8926 and can be used to reserve golf carts and arrange deliver of shavings to the stall.  Business hours are 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  If arriving after 7:00 p.m., you can arrange delivery of shavings prior to close of business.  Devers will have a stall assignment sheet by Wednesday afternoon prior to the show.  They do accept credit cards or checks.

5.                  The Kentucky Horse Park has an excellent campground adjacent to the park.  The web address for the campground is: http://www.kyhorsepark.com/khp/campground/.  Make your reservations by calling 888-459-7275 or reserve online at www.parks.ky.gov.  Rates are $27 per night for 1-6 persons; $22 per night for senior citizens; $20 per night for primitive with electric or $15 per night primitive.  The campground also provides a swimming pool.

6.                  The Horse Park is working with the show to provide for early arrivals or allow exhibitors to remain over Sunday evening.  The cost per stall is $20 each additional night.  Exhibitors may include this fee in their entries and show management will coordinate with the park.  Layovers until Monday are possible, however, horses must be off the grounds by 7:00 a.m. or a $50 per stall layover fee will apply.

7.                  Post entry fees will be $5.00 per horse per class if horse is entered in the show after the June 19th postmark.  No postdated checks will be accepted.

8.                  Refunds will only be given on receipt of veterinary certificate stating the reason the horse was unable to show.  Office and stall fees are not refundable.

9.                  Entries should contain the front and back of registration papers for each horse.  All paperwork must be up to date with AMHA.  Mature stallions need stallion certificates.  Gelding status must be noted on the registration papers for geldings.  If gelding status is not noted on the papers, the horse cannot be shown in any AMHA classes.

10.              Measuring will take place Thursday after 1:00 p.m. and will continue into evening.  Measurement will be done near the show office on the concourse of the arena.  Show management will attempt to measure horses as exhibitors arrive to the park.  Measurement will also be conducted each morning from 6:30 a.m. through 7:30 am. daily during the show.  Arrangements can be made with show management to measure horses at other times as needed.

11.              A 12-month coggins test is required on all horses.  A health paper dated within 150 days must be shown for Kentucky horses.  Out-of-state horses must have a 30-day health paper.  State inspectors will be on the grounds checking.  Horses arriving to Kentucky and the Horse Park from Texas will be required to test negative for “Piro” (Equine Piroplasmosis).  Any horses arriving from Texas without a negative test will be denied entry.

12.              PA system will be used to make barn calls.  However, this is a courtesy provided by the facility.  If it does not function, show management will work with the horse park to ensure this service, but it is not guaranteed.  We will be using a two-minute gate call.  Please check in with the gate manager when arriving at the make-up ring so that the show can continue at a steady pace.  It is each exhibitor’s responsibility to be at the gate on time.  Should a tack change be required, please request this at the gate at least five classes ahead of the needed time.

13.              Smoking is prohibited in and around the barns and stable area.  No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the showgrounds.  Grounded plugs are required on all extension cords and electrical devices used in the horse barns.

14.              Copies of youth and amateur cards for the 2010 show season are required with show entries.  Both youth and amateur cards can be purchased at the show office at AMHA rates.  These will be sent to the organization and a card will be issued to the exhibitor.  AMHA youth are those youth 18 years and under as of 1/1/10.  AOTE horses may not have been in the hands of a professional trainer since December 31, 2009.

15.              All show fees must be paid before a back number will be issued for the horse.  The exhibitor is invited to leave an “open” check at the office to cover class changes or additions throughout the show.  Once the show is completed, exhibitor and management will finalize the entries and settle the check.  There is a $25 returned check fee.

16.              Abuse of any animal or unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.  Anyone guilty of either of these offenses will have their entries cancelled and be asked to leave the grounds immediately.  No refunds will be given.

17.              Food and other refreshments will be sold at the park.  Showers and restrooms are located at the park.

18.              An EMT will be on duty during the show.  Contact any of the show staff if assistance is needed.

19.              This show welcomes all exhibitors and will accommodate special needs.  Please let show management know in advance if special accommodations are needed.

20.              Judge’s evaluation cards are available in the show office should any exhibitor or owner wish to complete one.

21.              Show awards include show bucks for 1st place through 6th places, grand and reserve awards, and supreme awards.  No cross-entering between Single Pleasure and Country Pleasure and Classic Pleasure Driving.
